The Money Baggage podcast was created in partnership with hosts Jo Franco, global influencer and founder of JoClub, and Xavier Jarvis, Hightower communications specialist.
The hosts dive into a variety of topics to promote financial literacy and help the next generation establish and grow their money mindset, underpinned by their personal experiences to illustrate multiple concepts: debt, saving, credit cards, student loans, caretaking for family members, budgeting, retail therapy, self investment and so much more.
Money Baggage conveys the importance of beginning at an early age to create financial plans and develop the skills to manage savings, investments and debts. Although Jo is a successful influencer (traveler, writer, TV host) with a large following, she hadn’t taken action on a financial plan as early on as she would have hoped. Coming from a family that feared the banking system and hid cash reserves under the bed, she lacked an understanding of how to save wealth and also grow it. Conversely, Xavier is a recent college graduate working full time in the beast that is the financial industry. At the beginning of his independent financial journey, Xavier is navigating the journey of paying rent and bills — all while managing a strong passion for retail therapy. He is finding the balance between needs and wants, and learning to tap into strategies for building credit, budgeting and saving up.
Together, these hosts ease the immense pressure of having conversations around money – and let listeners know they’re not alone in growing financial independence. Everyone has Money Baggage: let’s unpack it together!
