To celebrate Women’s History Month, we’re spotlighting our incredible female advisors across Hightower. To start us off, meet Ami Doshi, Director of Business Development at Hightower Signature Wealth with over 19 years of experience. Creator of the Limitless: Women, Wealth & Wellness program dedicated to female financial empowerment, Ami has proven to be a committed champion for women and is dedicated to uplifting women on their financial journeys.
Q: How do you try to support the financial wellbeing of women through your work?
A: Through our Limitless: Women, Wealth & Wellness program, my goal is to create more than just financial literacy — I aim to build financial agency. I help women understand their full financial picture, make informed and confident decisions, and feel empowered to use their voice in shaping their financial futures.
Q: Why do you think it is important for women to have access to dedicated financial guidance?
A: Because women’s financial lives are often more layered than the industry acknowledges. Many are balancing caregiving, career transitions, divorce, widowhood, business ownership, or wealth they may not have been encouraged to fully lead the financial discussion that impacts their lives. Dedicated guidance creates space for those realities to be seen and planned for thoughtfully.
Q: Why is it important to support the financial education of women?
A: Because education changes the relationship women have with money. When a woman understands the levers that affect the kind of life she and her loved ones can have — investing, planning, risk, taxes, decision-making — she is less likely to outsource her future and more likely to step into it with clarity and confidence.
Q: What inspired you to focus your career on financial planning for women?
A: I looked around me – and saw so many women, including those very close to me, that didn’t feel they had agency over their lives. There was a time when I felt the same way. Several life experiences led me to want to help others feel more in control over their own lives and feel like they have the ability to live more aligned with their true selves.
Q: Is there a project or client experience centered around supporting women that you’re especially proud of? What made it meaningful?
A: I’m most proud of building Limitless because it gave structure to something I felt was deeply needed. It created a platform for conversations women were already hungry to have — around money, life transitions, confidence, and values — and turned those conversations into meaningful education, connection, and action.
Q: What do you wish more women knew about financial planning?
A: That financial planning is not just about spreadsheets and retirement projections. It is about creating a customized roadmap to a life that feels secure, intentional, and aligned with what matters most to you. It is one of the most powerful forms of self-leadership.
Q: What financial challenges do you see women face most often, and how do you help them navigate?
A: One of the biggest challenges I see is hesitation and not taking ownership. I help women navigate that by breaking complex topics into manageable steps and creating a space where they can build confidence over time, not feel pressure to know everything at once.
Q: What advice would you give to women who are considering a career in the finance industry?
A: Do not underestimate the value of your own perspective. This industry does not just need technical knowledge — it needs empathy, strong listening, strategic thinking, and the ability to connect money to real life. Women bring all of that, and the industry is better when they lead with it.
