Michael Parker is Chief Development Officer at HighTower. Mr. Parker leads HighTower’s growth efforts through his leadership in business development and relationship management, including both recruiting and practice management. Mr. Parker’s role is pivotal to HighTower’s evolution as a company and ability to recruit and retain new talent by building relationships on a foundation of trust and care. His commitment to excellence, integrity, and the growth of individuals, teams and organizations has supported HighTower by growing its revenues by 31 percent and transitioning 12 teams with $5.6 billion in assets in 2014.
Prior to HighTower, Mr. Parker was Vice President of Business Development at LPL Financial, where he was responsible for new business development, focused exclusively on top performing advisor teams. Previously, he spent nearly 10 years with Smith Barney in various positions in the Northeast, including Financial Advisor, Branch Manager and Complex Branch Manager.
Mr. Parker earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the Sawyer School of Business at Suffolk University and a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Rider University. He holds FINRA Series 7, 9, 10, 63, and 65 licenses.
He is an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society, where he is involved with fundraising efforts and the organization’s annual “Run for Dad” event. Mr. Parker is also a regular contributor to WealthManagement.com, where he shares his insights on culture and business growth.
